FESTIVAL PRINCESS KATHRYN BELL

Kathryn
pictured here with Tracey Dawson, has
achieved so much for her age, just 14 years old. She holds 5th grade
Theory. Practical 8th grade Piano is her next examination. She has
achieved Intermediate grades for Trumpet and Voice.
She attends Rossall School, and furthers
her musical interest in a school well known for its Music department. She appears in concert regularly at the School.
As a piano student she is an inspiration
to all of the young Students at Marsh Mill School of Music. Kathryn is an
articulate young lady, with a charm and charisma most befitting her title.
This year Advanced Piano Title,
and 1st Advanced Piano, 1st
Open Piano.

MR. FREDERICK PARNELL
Welcome back to the BBK Fylde Festival in Wyre, 2004, Mr
and Mrs Frederick Parnell.
Frederick Parnell has been a professional musician and teacher for over
four decades.
He began Piano Lessons Aged 8 yrs, and then continued and studied
organ, accordion, harmony and counterpoint with Dr. Robert Ashfield, John Brydson and Madame Hames-Hague. He also received tuition from Graham
Romani and Ivor Beynon whilst preparing for the World
Accordion Championships in Paris in 1951, when he secured 8th place.
He broadcast as All Britain Virtuoso Champion 1950-51, and later with
his
Championship winning Orchestra, Group and Duetists in 1964 – 65.
His Students Keith Jones and Geoffrey Adcock became All Britain
Champion and Runner up in 1965 and Keith was British Representative in the
New York, Coupe Mondiale, 1969.
He has been an Examiner and Adjudicator since 1965 including, various
tours of Scotland, Ireland and Malta.
From 1979 to 1990 his family group ‘Sounds Continental’ played over
1800 engagements, including Hotel Residencies, Conferences and Promotions.
His two sons, Ashley and Alistair are both professional musicians,
Alistair plays with the Birmingham Symphony Orchestra, and Contemporary
music group, and currently father and son have been performing Astor
Piazzola compositions, featuring Accordion, Saxophone and Piano in Recitals at Nottingham
University and Patchings Arts Centre

ANDREW FIGG

This young man has
achieved since his first 6 months on the Accordion, he is a hard working
student, with a professional attitude. He has achieved all appropriate
sections of the NAO so far.
He had great success at the UK
championships, he won the Entertainment Award, and at this Festival,
won the award for the Entertainer of the Year, for which he received the
Les Dawson Award. A great ambassador for the Fylde Music Festival in Wyre.
2004 he won the
Entertainment Award for the 3rd time.

MR. RAYMOND BODELL
BSc(Hons), FLCM,
Amus TCL, LBCA (TD), ABCA(TD), LBCA
Welcome to the Wyre Borough once again Raymond Anna
and Family for the BBK Fylde Coast Festival 2003
He served 9 years as Chairman of the
National Accordion Organisation of the UK. Vice President of the
Confederation Internationale Des Accordionists (CIA) and PD Director of
the British College of Accordionists.
Raymond achieved all Diploma’s of the British College
of Accordionists by the age of 17 before gaining Diploma status of the
London and Trinity Colleges of Music. Previous holder of the Virtuoso,
Senior, Bell Trophy and Junior National titles and has competed
internationally in various countries.
He is a former Head of Music in a Harrow High School, an
adjudicator of the British federation of festivals, Examiner of the
British College of Accordionists, has chaired the NAO music committee and
Adjudicated International festivals. He prepares students at all grades
and successfully given numerous master classes on the Accordion. He is MD
of the East Surrey Accordion Society. |
